The annual Des Moines Pride celebration is held the second weekend of June every summer. The celebration consists of a street party, parade, and a show of various community exhibitors and entertainers. Capital City Pride’s mission is to “promote acceptance, tolerance, and understanding of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community through education, programming, and visibility.”
