Welcome!

On behalf of the women of Kappa Alpha Theta, I would like to welcome all of you to Drake University. At Kappa Alpha Theta, you will find well-rounded women focused on our four pillars of scholarship, sisterhood, social, and service; these are the areas in which we strive to excel. We are proud of our academic achievements and had 15 girls earn a 4.0 last fall. After our studying is done, we like to have fun! Different sisterhood and social events in the past have included ice skating, lunch at a fondue restaurant, movie nights at the house, formal dances, date parties, and exchanges. We are involved in several service activities including class service projects, where smaller groups of women get together to make a contribution to the community. For example, we have adopted a penguin at the Blank Park Zoo and played bingo with residents at a nursing home. Internationally, Kappa Alpha Theta supports Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) as its philanthropy; last fall we raised over $4000 for CASA and held a "Kicks for CASA" kickball tournament. All of these activities contribute to a memorable time here at Drake, as we share laughter and sisterhood whatever the occasion. We look forward to meeting you during recruitment!
