The Women of the Big Brick House Welcome You to…

The Gamma Theta Chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma at Drake University!

Kappas are… unique, fun, thoughtful and inspiring! As our chapter is over 100 sisters, we pride ourselves on being a very well-rounded house. By fully embracing one another’s diverse abilities and interests, Kappas are leaders on campus and in the community. This is demonstrated through presence in student senate, residence life, political campaigning and Des Moines’ fashion and magazine scene. It is truly inspiring to be surrounded by determined women who humbly and intelligently challenge one another. This challenge pushes one to be the best she can be, opening up exciting, new opportunities for each sister to shine.

Whether it is via touring this website, going through recruitment or speaking with a Kappa, one can be introduced to various Kappa Kappa Gamma ideals. Our focus on scholarship can be seen through various successful programs resulting with our Chapter average GPA of 3.25. Most notably our GPA is in line with Drake University’s all sorority average of 3.25 and above the all women’s average of 3.16.  Service is also a primary focus as Kappa Kappa Gamma supports many philanthropies, namely Reading is Fundamental (RIF) and the Heart Connection. As previously spoken to, sisterhood is constant here at  Kappa. Whether it is a scheduled sisterhood event or a late night run for chocolate accompanied by an open ear after a rough day, Kappa's support is limitless.

Finally, as one may have heard, Kappas like to have fun! Our social calendar is full of incredible events each semester. We look to further relationships with fellow Greek houses in themed parties or exchanges. We also take pride in our highly anticipated date parties like Kappa Krush and elegant formals named after our jewel, the Sapphire Ball.

Please take a tour of this web site to further get a taste of what Kappa Kappa Gamma is about. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our beautiful, lifelong sisterhood.
