Note from the editor

For the last month, Lupe Fiasco has been playing nonstop on my iPod. I admit, I have adopted his latest single “Daydreamin’” as my end-of-semester anthem. With the season of flip-flops and new oversize sunglasses comes the irresistible urge to float away into another world where 20-page papers and final exams don’t exist. But while the real world has been fighting for my attention, I’ve had a slew of new Drake Mag Online stories to keep me entertained.

When I didn’t feel like reading another rhetorical theory essay, I looked forward to reading about budding entrepreneur Johnny Cupcakes or the Midwest college grad who might be the next Quentin Tarantino. And when I couldn’t bare another snooze-fest lecture, I pulled out my Drake Mag file and caught a glimpse of the secret world of college athletes.

Hopefully, this launch will fascinate you as much as it has me. Sneak a peek into the hectic life of a student mom and crack up as a writer takes you through her festering hatred of one TV’s most beloved sitcoms. If you’ve been dozing during your poli-sci class—we’ve got you covered with a guide to the remaining presidential candidates. For those looking to eat their finals stress away, check out our unique cookie recipe, and work off the worry-weight with our dorm room exercise plan.

I would tell you more about the awesomeness of the latest crop of stories, but you’re just going to have to look around and see for yourself—the daydreaming is kicking in again.

Peace and love,

Kayla Porter
